Secretary Clinton Travels to Pakistan, the Middle East, Morocco and Egypt: October 26-November 4, 2009
|
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton travels to Pakistan to continue efforts to create a comprehensive relationship with Pakistan that covers a whole range of issues that are important to the people of Pakistan, important to the people of the United States, and to the greater region.
Secretary Clinton and Special Envoy for Middle East Peace Senator George Mitchell hold bilateral meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Mahmoud Abbas, in the region.
Secretary Clinton visits Marrakesh, Morocco from November 2-3, 2009, to participate in the 6th Forum for the Future.
Secretary Clinton then travels to Cairo. She meets with Minister of Intelligence General Suleiman, Foreign Minister Aboul Gheit and President Mubarak. She is joined in Cairo by Special Envoy Mitchell. Special Envoy Mitchell holds meetings in Amman, Jordan, with King Abdullah and also with President Abbas.
