Yesterday was National Vanilla Milkshake Day!
So what did we have for dinner? You guessed it!
It also helped that it's like 96 friggin' degrees outside.
We followed Paula Deen's recipe because if you're gonna get sugarshocked you might as well get sugarshocked from the queen:
8 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups vanilla ice cream (we used Bryer's vanilla bean so it was spotted with vanilla)
2 cups milk, less for thicker milkshakes
Using a blender or milkshake machine, blend all ingredients together until smooth. Serve in tall glasses with a straw.
And for my vegan friends:
Vegan Vanilla Milkshake
1/3 cup light coconut milk
1 cup almond milk (frozen into ice cubes)
1 tbsp. agave nectar
1 packet Truvia (opt)
1 ½ tsp. pure vanilla
Pinch sea salt
