Martha is one of my first goats who came to me from Elaine, a wonderful woman who has spent a lifetime raising goats.
However, shortly before I met her, Elaine was married to a horrible, horrible man (may his name be erased.) When Martha was a little kid, he broke her leg. He also tied one of Elaine's LGDs to the electric fence and "accidently" turned it on, killing it.
Elaine sent him packing, but was left in financial difficulties so that is how my herd began.
Martha showed no signs of abuse due to Elaine's care, but walked with a limp when she first came because the cast on her leg had just been removed. Also because of Elaine's gentle care, Martha is one of my sweetest does.
She has some problems as a mom, however -multiple births confuse and baffle her. She is the best mom to a single kid, but I've had to bottle feed all others. I don't know if this is due to what she experienced as a kid or not.
