Wildflowers dancing along the Streams

The lower trails in the Bird Creek Meadows complex near Mount Adams are lovely with wildflowers now... but the meadows themselves up higher are still 2-4 weeks away from blooming. Mosquitos are thick this time of year so be prepared. This shot was taken along the trail to Bluff Lake from Bird Lake, where the spring makes a waterfall across the trail... you might get your feet a little wet there, and do be careful for the slippery rocks!

I saw many varieties of wildflowers in a short distance... Columbine, Paintbrush, Lousewort, Elephants Head, Monkeyflower, penstamon, Valerian, a parsley relative I only know by the native medicine name Iune, Goldenrod, and many more already.

I kept seeing my Rio out of the corner of my eye on the trail.....
