A simple fly sitting on a leaf of a common hazel, but as a true macro. The compouind eyes are clearly visible on the large size. Most impressive for me (besides the eyes and hairs) were how clearly the halteres are visible. Before that I only knew them from my schoolbook.
Canon EOS 350D and EF-S 60mm Macro lens. Additional light by speedlite 430 EZ. Manual exposure with 1/160 and f/13 at ISO 100.
