Sunderland Regal 8167
Rear balcony area of the Former Black's Regal / Odeon, now Mecca Bingo, in Sunderland. The theatre originally seated 2,522 and was one of a handful of luxurious cine-theatres built for George and Alfred Black. All were taken over by Odeon - Gateshead & South Shields in 1944 followed by Sunderland & Byker in 1955. The Sunderland Odeon became a Top Rank bingo hall after closure in 1962 and is now run by Mecca.
