Raccoons don't generally play well with each other, but they are not particularly territorial unless food becomes scarce.

Thank you for your comments. This guy was stuck on the roof of a townhouse and trying all kinds of things to get down. I just kept the camera on him until he reached this point of exasperation. A couple minutes later he took a break and posed for all the people taking pictures:

Wow, what an incredible angle and moment. A feisty guy, I guess... usually they just look, or scurry away. But there are just way too many raccoons around Toronto; big families of them in my neighborhood.

Wow; that's an incredible shot; I've never seen anything like it! Great catch! There's a bunch of them living in the ravine behind my apartment and at night they make the most bizarre noises sometimes; they sound a little bit like demented human babies when they're yelling; quite an eerie sound.

Thanks for the comments guys. As beautiful and cunning as these guys are, they are d-a-a-nger.
Scott: that eerie sound.....ya, I've heard that. THAT'S why my cats stay indoors!
David: I think I recall reading an article in Toronto Life many many years ago with raccoons on the cover....if I remember correctly, the article said there was at least one raccoon for every two houses in the old pre-amalgamation City of Toronto. Scary.
