Cliff Palace

This picture was taken in mesa verde national park. The photo was taken at the beginning of the trail. One gets to go all the way to the dwelling and then climb back via a ladder for the other side. This particular structure is called cliff palace. It is on the the several well preserved cliff dwelling of pueblo people who lived in the colorado plateau between 9th ad 12th century. There is no written documentation as native people didn't have any script but through stories of the pueblo people this information has been passed. The Navajo, and the Paiute tribes which occupy the Arizona part of the current USA regard pueblo people to be their ancestors.
