Miegle 22 architecture frieze with merman-mermaid

Miegle 22 is a fragment of a piece of architecture with a frieze of a merman or mermaid (siren) accompanied by 2 clawed beasties that resides in the Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum, Perthshire, Scotland.

This is an excerpt from Plate CXXXII in "The Sculptured Stones of Scotland" Volume 1 (1856). It is bracketed by a moulded frame that indicates it was once part of a decorative string-course in a church possibly dating around 9th-10th centuries AD.

3D photogrammetry model of the frieze is found here sketchfab.com/models/f74f4d7172a04580984f60f7ca5a5be9
