Elie Wiesel

Elie Wiesel Spoke at SLU on the 1st of December to a crowd of approximately 2,800 students not including hundreds which were turned away for lack of space. A very emotional and inspirational speaker, Elie elaborated on the necessity for us to recognize our humanity in the service and respect of others.

"Whatever you do in life, always think higher. Feel deeper. Be sensitive. Be sensitive to each other -- to each other's pain, to each other's joys and each other's fears."

"The meaning of humanity is not in me, but in me facing you, and you facing me. I define my humanity by yours. Alone I am absolutely nothing. . .We are all here for one another."

"We cannot allow ourselves not to feel the pain of others. We can't give in to indifference."
