for those who left and will never come back
100 Words - 32. Elegy
today is National Memorial Day for those who sacrificed their lives for our country. more than 24,000 people, most of them kids younger than 20 years old, died for that cause. i know at least 5 of them. i can't help but wonder if it's worth it. i can't help but think about Gilad Shalit, the Israely soldier who's been a captive of the Hamas for 5 years now. no one does anything to bring him back, including the Israely government.
ironically enough, tomorrow is Israel's 63rd Independence Day - i haven't enjoyed it for the past 3 years - it's too hard when it comes so close to Memorial day, too hard to do that switch from being sad to being happy.
