Thoreau wrote in the beginning of Walden, "At present I am a sojourner in civilized life again." The trip was amazing and I'll have hundreds of pictures to post once I sort through them all. And I'll have a million and a half stories to tell but none as coincidentially unique as this one.
This is Stacey, an Ontario science teacher and Park Ranger, doing yoga on the shore of Lake Superior at sunset in Lake Superior Provincial Park's Agawa Bay campground. We had passed each other by two nights before this on the opposite side of the lake, 250 miles away, while staying at another campground before we met. It was Kerouac-ian meeting someone and chatting for hours, in the middle of nowhere, by the most beautiful sunset I will ever see in my life. I said that night (and many times since) that if Heaven exists as a place and not just as a concept, it will be there at Agawa Bay.
A moment of zen.
