Three Mountain Sheep

I was out in Rocky Mountain National Park hiking and scoping out a few scenic locations on a Friday afternoon when I came upon a herd of about 12 mountain sheep near Horseshoe Park, RMNP. They were grazing on a ridgeline at around 9,100 feet msl. After about 1/2 hr, they got a little comfortable with me shooting & moving a little, up to 10 meters. But, that was it...10 meters. Anyways, a nice little storm came in along with cooler temps around 20 F. I ended my afternoon because I had to pick up the kiddo from school and the tourists screaming & yelling way down below, making the sheep nervous...the echos in the valley are amazing! The background is a bit bluish because of the light snow & pines. Feb 17, 2012.
