There were forecasts of extreme weather throughout particularly north-west Scotland. I drove through this, the hardest hail I've ever encountered, a complete white-out. After it passed, I emerged into bright sunshine and saw this rainbow rushing away along Loch Maree. Some frantic chasing along the woodland track to Slattadale and this vista opened wide before me.

Meterological phenomenon: precipitatio is a visible stream of precipitation (rain/hail) extending from cloud to ground.

Atmospheric optic phenomenon: a rainbow, through the hail and rain.

(Processing: a couple of images stacked on top of each other, tonemapped in PS.)

The other end of the rainbow.
