Newton Spirits

I discovered the Newton Spirits book after stumbling across mujitra’s Flickr stream a couple of weeks ago. I managed to track down a mint copy of this book through an Amazon Japan store that shipped to North America.

According to mujitra, this is “the bible for Japanese newton owner.” Flipping through the book, you can understand why. Published by NTT in 1997, Newton Spirits is an illustrated how to guide, product history, technology platform reference, and overview of all things Newton — including software, hardware, screenshots, prototypes, and specifically the use of the Newton in Japan.

While the book is set primarily in Kanji, the main section headings are also supplied in lightly fractured English, for example:

* What’s Newton Technology and what’s not?

* PDA, the next generation personal information tool

* Newton: The Inside Story

* The evolution of Newton continue

* A brief history of Newton in Japan

I’ll try to post some additional images of the contents of this book shortly.
