1 December 2012 | From 26 January - 6 February 2013, 2,300 athletes with an intellectual disability from 127 countries will compete at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, Republic of Korea.

Australia will be represented by five athletes and three officials. This will be the first-time Australian athletes have competed in snowsports at a World Winter Games and the first time we will be represented in snowboarding. Our only other World Winter Games experience was way back in 1997 when fourteen Australian athletes competed in floor hockey at the World Winter Games in Toronto, Canada.
