Vincent and Rosemarie Harding, Mennonite Central Committee - Atlanta, 1961

Vincent and Rosemarie Harding, Chicago, Illinois, July 1961. “The Hardings will represent Mennonite Central Committee Peace Section in a witness of Christian reconciliation between racial groups in the Southern United States. Vincent was pastor of the Woodlawn Mennonite Church in Chicago.” The Hardings moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in about November 1961.

 

In 1961, the Mennonite Central Committee sent Vincent and Rosemarie Harding to Atlanta to represent the MCC Peace Section in a witness of Christian reconciliation between racial groups in the Southern United States. In 1962, MCC began a voluntary service program in Atlanta.
