Gran Cenote

Poor coastal conditions forced us out of the Caribbean and venturing inland to some of the Yucatan's underwater caves, known as cenotes, on our recent trip to Quintana Roo.

I was hesitant at first to leave behind the coral reefs but once I slipped into the crystal clear waters of Gran Cenote I was sold. What an incredible experience! So deep, so clear, so gorgeous! The shafts of sunlight piercing the forest above and dancing through the waters created a heavenly ambiance as we swam in and out of the massive underwater caverns.
