Least Grebe

The smallest species of Grebe in the Americas is a commonly found Valley specialty which is rarely found anywhere in the country outside of South Texas. These cute little birds spend much of their days completely submerged, foraging beneath the waters of the Valley's many wetlands. Their bright yellow eyes are both striking and distinctive of the species.
