Texas Coral Snake

The thick ground cover of decaying palm fronds and deep alluvial soils of the Sabal Palm Forest prove ideal habitat for one of the more secretive venomous snakes of the region.

Coral Snakes, while being drop for drop the most venomous snake in the country, are in actuality very passive and non-aggressive creatures. This combined with their generally small size makes envenomation extremely unlikely.
