this is a tribute to my barber. oliver giemza runs einfriseur, a very special place in an area called karoviertel in hamburg-stpauli. there is no mirror at einfriseur you watch the life on the street outside the window while you get your hair cut. since more than two years, oli has got an old ricoh camera on a tripod fixing the window. a cable release lays on the floor close to the chair (which is not a normal barber chair, but an old mercedes-benz chair). he kicks the release once in a while working on your head. the result of this is a fantastic collection of pictures all with the same frame. an amazing and very impressive photo story, a very special social documentation of one of the most beautiful streets of hamburg.
no blog, no website, no exhibitions, no publications... the only way to see this documentation is visiting oli at the marktstrasse. by the way, he is also a really good hairdresser...

      schöne story.
war da auch ein paar mal. aber leider ist mein budget nicht mehr groß genug um mir die zwanzig minuten der muße zu gönnen. ärgerlich. der ausblick ist wundervoll.

amazing thing is: you even get sharper on your own pics during a haircut at "einfriseur"...
