Waxing Gibbous Moon - September 24, 2012

The Waxing Gibbous Moon at 73% of full illumination on Monday, September 24, 2012. On of the best nights for moon observation is two days after First Quarter. This moon shows several prominent features along the terminator. Starting in the north is Plato, then the very prominent Copernicus, further to the south is Bullialdus, Wilhelm, Montanari, Longomontanus, Blancanus, then great views of Tycho and Clavius.
