Let the air out!

The conductor on the BNSF 976 north uncouples the power from the freight cars. My camera captured the cloud of air escaping from the air hose, which was a pleasant surprise. A pleasant surprise for the photographer, but not for the crew.

The H-RRBPAS was requested to stop and pickup one loaded centerbeam flat car at Collins Pine. The load was stuck behind five empty centerbeams! After a 40 minute discussion with the Oregon Trunk Dispatcher, the reainmaster and BNSF customer service, the crew moved the empty centerbeams out of the way, so the crew could access the loads. The crew kept their cool, while dealing with endless mosquitoes, careless drivers and the carelessness of another train crew. Two hours later, the crew departed Clear Creek , and continued north to Klamath Falls, OR. Just another day on the railroad!
