Oh this is SO cool. I saw this on Pinterest and added it to my boards. Do you mind if I ask your settings? Is the white tree illuminating light from behind? Would love to know how you were able to keep them so well lit with just the light strands! Great job! Thanks in advance!

Hi jsherrick. :) So, the tree was actually to their left and I cloned the edges out of the pic. It didn't provide a great deal of light. Since this was very spur of the moment and I was at my mom's house, we used two table lamps that she had and set them on chairs on either side of the family, at about a 45 degree angle to them. I used my reflector and a white pillow case to diffuse the light. There was also a little light from the house illuminating them from the front My ISO was 1600 f/2 SS 1/100. I shot this with my 35mm 1.4. It was a lot of trial and error. It was a great exercise in studio lighting using only household lights though. Lol.

Thanks sowenderful. This type of makeshift/resourceful lighting is exactly the way I roll :-) I am going to give it a whirl with my own kids! Thanks so much for answering my questions. I appreciate you taking the time!
