Second night in the Territory we camped beside this waterhole in the West MacDonnell Range. I found these gorges very tricky to photograph, would need to spend a day at each to work out when the sun was at the best angle but in saying this some of the images at first and last light were the most acceptable of the shoots. This is a five portrait stitch.
A few burning off fires the smoke, adding interest to the horizons. This waterhole, Ellery Creek is I believe a popular swimming hole, the water was ice cold when I put my hands in, would think if exposed for too long at this temperature would begin to suffer from the intense cold but in summer would be magic, I imagine
