TWA Terminal, JFK

Trans World Airlines commissioned architect Eero Saarinen to design their flagship terminal the TWA Flight Center, at New York's Idlewild (now JFK) Airport. The building opened in 1962 and served TWA until its demise and purchase by American Airlines in 2001. These photos were taken by me on a trip to New York in 1998; the terminal was still in use, but its heyday was long gone and it was pretty deserted. It is now closed, but reportedly under some type of restoration for jetBlue operations.
