Turville Farm Aerial Image 4 - 1937

This is a 1937 aerial view of the Turville farm. The Lake Monona shoreline is in the top left corner of the image. The direction of view is from the southwest to the northeast at the top of the image.

At the center of this image is the Turville greenhouse complex. The small building with the tall chimney at the left end of the greenhouse is the original 1854 Turville house. It became the headhouse for the greenhouse. The other houses were constructed over the years as the Turville children reached adulthood. As adults, many of the Turville children decided to stay on the farm and help with the farming operation. There were a total of 8 houses and two cottages built on the farm over the years.
