Bikaner - Mud House (Explored #292 on 26th July 2008)

Mud houses are not very uncommon in indian villages. They are fine as long as there is no flood. Since they tend to become dusty and unclean, they are kept extra clean by the residents. They decorate these houses with various paintings....from where originated the famous MADHUBANI paintings.

The roof of the house is made of straw derived from the remnants of rice or wheat plants. These houses have no foundations.
