Doesn't it make you feel part of a bigger thing when you see this!
The stars were so bright last night with no moon and I had been waiting for an opportunity to try this. I set up my camera on the tripod in the garden, and then left it running on continuous shooting mode, with consecutive 30second exposures. I then used the free programme 'startrails' to stitch them all together. The mistiness is from the lens getting condensation because of the cold. Luckily the Pole star was right over the house to get the circular effect... My camera will only do 100 shots in continuous mode so to get longer trails I will have to reset it after those next time...
