Veraval's Wooden Ships

A mid-sized wooden ship rises up like a skeleton.

Some of the largest wooden ships in the world are built in the port of Verval on the west coast of India. The biggest take two years to complete, are 1,200 tons, and are entirely made by hand.

Veraval, Gujarat, India. October 2009.
