Thirsty Lady Bugs

I bought a bag of ladybugs (who knew?) at the nursery in order to get a macro shot of one of them on a leaf with glistening water drops.

I let a few out of the bag and they were gone in about a second -- way too fast to compose and take a good shot. So I put the rest of them in the refrigerator for a while. When I took them out they were catatonic for about 30 seconds and then off they went!

But first they stopped by the spray-bottle watering hole that I made for a drink!

At the end, there were a few dead ones left, so I propped one of those up on a leaf and took a few shots. Nothing spectacular.
