His Noodly Appendages

MacroMondays 04/14/08: "Fake"

First of all... let the record show that these are not 'my' teeth.

All of mine are still in my head.

I was discussing my false teeth photo idea with my 8yo son and he

suggested that I add eyes to the shot. Not a bad idea kid - I like

the way he thinks. So we took a trip to the Wal Mart and this is all

we could find. While he and I were playing around with getting the

light right he suggested we put it in the glass too.... So credit for

the setup goes to the boy. Thanks Jack. After reviewing I cannot

shake the idea that this thing has an uncanny resemblance to the

"Flying Spaghetti Monster".

Strobist info: SB800 snooted from below in a box, the tumbler is

sitting on a piece of glass. Blue-gelled Sunpak 544 to camera left

with gobo to only light the black foamcore background. White

reflector directly above about 2 feet above the subject to catch the

upward light and define the top edge of the glass. Ebay trigger on

544 and SB800 on slave mode.
