Phil Hill in for a pit stop at Sebring 1963

The great Phil Hill leaps from this Shelby Cobra during a pit stop at the 1963 Sebring 12 hour race. Hill's co-drivers were Ken Miles and Fireball Roberts. The car finished in 11th place but first in class. Note another legend waiting to talk to Hill. None other than Carroll Shelby wearing his trademark bib overalls and Stetson hat. Just think of it, Hill, Miles, Roberts and Shelby all in one spot. This was the era of legendary racing, legendary cars and legendary drivers. The Henry Ford/Friedman photo.
