Pleiku - Camp Holloway Airfield

If memory serves me correctly this is Camp Holloway Airfield near the village of Pleiku. In 1965 the airfield was attacked with U.S. dead and wounded totaling almost 200. At the same time the Viet Cong attacked Qui Nhon with a heavy loss of life. These attacks were used by the Johnson Administration to send in more combat troops to Vietnam ostensibly to provide security for U.S. installations. This was then the beginning of the big build up that would end with over a half million American solders in Vietnam by 1968.
