Peter Revson (left) and Helmut Marko drove for Alfa Romeo at the 1972 6-Hour Continental at Daytona. Helmut Marko and Vic Elford drove the #5 Alfa Romeo 33TT3 to a third place finish while Peter Revson (on right) and his co-driver Rolf Stommelen did not finish in their 33TT3. Marko suffered a serious injury in a F1 race when a rock picked up by another car pierced his face shield and nearly blinded him. After that incident drivers were required to wear Lexan face shields rather than just plastic.

Lovely man, a sad day when we lost him.

My Dad was Revson's doctor in the early 60's. When I was a kid I remember going to a race with him at Bridge Hampton in NY and wearing his helmet and sitting in the car before the race.
