arborio rice pudding

    Apropos of nothing, an even better rice pudding than the last one I'd made. The only differences were the highly abbreviated cooking time (30 to 40 minutes! Occasional stirring! And it's done!) and the use of arborio (short-grained risotto rice) rather than longer, thinner stuff. I kept the flavorings--a bay leaf and a half a vanilla bean, split--I'd fallen in love with last time. It was perfect. It is gone now. (Those are dried cherries on top. This picture is awful.)

      aside from kir, rice pudding is my absolute favorite dessert ever. and posting it during passover is just not fair, i say!! because now all i can think about is rice pudding. sniffle.

      btw, when say favorite, i've been known to eat 2 large plates at "rice to riches".

      Sorry. Though I'm not a true follower of Passover, I did actually make this last week, along with a bunch of other things that don't make for a solid post. Unless I get inspired.

      Oh no, this isn't a problem at all. Personally, i'm backlogged on things i've made... I've 4 dishes I should write about, but I just have NO energy as of late. stupid weather and stupid rain. phooey.
