skillet irish soda bread

    Newer Older

Skillet Irish Soda Bread (with raisins and caraway seeds!) from the New York Times this week. Absolutely worth the effort, which is not much, really. Supposed to be served with cheddar and apples, though we have neither in-house. I think it would be dreamy with a dollop of creme fraiche.

I just remembered there's a Guinness in the fridge. Oh hell yes.

salty sweet, kerisalzillo, ciderandrye, and 3 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Haha! I checked your site TWICE to see if you'd made it first, or in synchrony. I wanted to know if it would work. Ah oh, it does. :)

real Irish Soda bread has no raisens or fruit or anything in it. It's just flour, soda, salt.
I have a friend who makes breads according to their original recipies....says this is *cake*....not
      But it looks great.
