    Confession: I know that these bright orange ones could not be more artificial but the all-natural brown ones look so yuck to me that I get these instead. I feel much better now admitting that. Next I will admit how much I hate peanut butter or other nut butters that force me to stir before I use them because they never get evenly mixed and I am pretty certain that my stirring skills are up to par.

      Ding that! I gave away a bag of natural brown ones to my less delicate neighbor -- I couldn't tell if they tasted different or if it was just the look of them that was so off-putting.

      I also can't bring myself to buy the brown ones from the bulk bins. I can't get over the thought that they've gone bad, even though I know that's not the case!

      I never liked dried apricots until I had the brown ones. To me, the sulfur that keeps them orange leaves a terrible taste in my mouth.
