the final shred of evidence that i am batshit insane

I've been obsessing over finding an excuse to make this Gateau de Crepes cake ever since I saw it in the New York Times magazine a whole year ago, finally getting around to making it for my sister-in-law's 25th birthday this weekend. I tweaked the filling with some raspberry liquor and a couple squares of chocolate, and did not end up putting enough filling between each layer, ending up with 2 cups leftover which we just dolloped generously on top.
