      Daughter of a Georgia sheriff, Stanley Mattox:
      Married Florida attorney Oscar Miller:
      Married again sometime later, to James Monahan (1904-1978), senior editor at Reader's Digest; he was her co-author on the Lasker-award winning piece. She survived him.

      She died in 1981.
