    My Garrard 401 in situ. It's mounted in Loricraft's skeletal plinth, made from 25mm thick marine birch ply and beautifully finished. Electronics are Quad.

      That's right, the 'suspension' consists of four squash balls inside the metal uprights. They work wonderfully well too, the deck's incredibly quiet when running and fabulously musical.

      Did you try the power supply from Loricraft for your 401? I have a german handmade power supply (Dr. Fuß) expecially made for my 401 and it improves sound in an incredible way because the 50Hz or 60Hz of our electrical line have lots of noise ...

      I talked about the Loricraft PSU with Terry, and it's certainly something I'll consider adding at a later date. I'm taking a long view with this deck, starting by sorting the turntable itself out, then upgrading the ancillaries as and when.

      Yeah, mine lived in a crate for three years before I got around to resurrecting it. Awesome decks though - they really do deserve a little love.
