Maeshafn Youth Hostel ,Clwyd, Sept 1985

Famous for the three-storey bunks. One needed a head for heights. Close by was a fabulous old pub, the Miners Arms, hidden away. There were views over the whole of the Wirral and Merseyside too. This was apparently the first purpose built youth hostel in Britain. Since shut down. Me with Brian. Photo taken by the husband of the woman on the left - they lived "somewhere behind Heathrow Airport".

Pictured with Brian Phipps who rode the first UK Audax uk event circa 1977 - about 770km from memory. Before my time.
