AWZ Zwickau P70 Coupe, Weimar DDR. 1989

Parked (and very inconveniently for photography, I must say!) near the former Bauhaus in Weimar in DDR times.

I am not sure in which state shop these wheel trims were purchased. The registration is a local one of Bezirk Erfurt . The fibre-glass bodied P70 was a precursor of the Trabant, made in the same works in Zwickau between 1956 and 1959. The Coupe, also with a 684cc 2 cylinder,2-stroke engine, was launched in 1957. Clearly owned by an enthusiast in Weimar. I wonder whether it is still running around? The Bonnet badge was that used later by the Trabant.
