The Barrier

This crumbling, unstable rock face, and some tonnage of earth, is all that is holding Garibaldi Lake back from turning into the greatest mudslide the West has ever seen. Some day it will collapse.


As we ate lunch here the previous day, you could see the rockfall. Every 15 minutes or perhaps more a little puff of falling rock would start a little avalanche of pebbles.
