Apple Crumble with raisins
450g/1lb apples, peeled, cored and chopped
50g/2oz unrefined brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
300g/10½oz plain flour sieved
175g/6oz brown sugar
200g/7oz butter cubed
A little butter for greasing
1.Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
2.Butter a 24cm/9in ovenproof dish.
3.Put the flour and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Then adding a few butter cubes at a time rub the butter into the flower and sugar. Keep rubbing until you look like you have a bowl of breadcrumbs.
4.Mix the other brown sugar and cinnamon together.
5.Layer some of the apples in the dish then sprinkle over some of the sugar ,cinnamon mix and some of the raisins repete until you have used everything up.Then simply sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.
6.Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes until the fruit mixture is bubbling and the crumble is browned.
