Scrapbook from the Late 1800's
these photos were taken between 1878 and 1883. the photographers name wasnt in the book..
they are from all over Britan and shot rather well.
They were found in a 19th century scrapbook in a muddy field boot sale just outside of Birmingham for 50p in August 2008.
im uploading them so that they are not lost, and that people all over the world can see them and see what Britan Looked like in the late 19th Century, and help me figure out what they are. are they post cards? holiday photos? personal collection? a rare lost scrapbook of lost prints? a book of junk? i dont know.
Please leave comments and any more info on the places if you know it. i dont recognise the names of half the places.
im Guessing the Photographer is the guy in the photos. would be nice to find his name.
are they Francis Firth pictures? is that him in the fist 2 pics? are they just some guy? id love to find out. from searching around ive found postcards from similar angles but they are on card with printed backs, these are flimsy thin paper with pencil writting on the back of them.
