Safety Curtain

The Cinema has been tripled in the usual way but the seats in the circle were taken out before it closed to reduce capacity (presumably they were rented as seats often are nowadays)

The main screen just had seats in the lower stalls area and with the awesome 1970s safety curtain down it made for excellent pictures!

Im sure the original décor remains under the 1970s 'tripleness' too!

The safety curtain, once beautifully painted depicting Doncaster's importance as a railway town with an approaching locomotive in the centre, is actually as old as the theatre itself - the Gaumont Palace of 1934.
