Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill - MODIS/Terra Detail (with interpretation), April 29, 2010

Mostly clear skies early in the afternoon of April 29 show the oil slick almost hitting the Mississippi Delta shoreline (see inset for detail). Slicks cover 2,256 square miles. Winds are blowing the slick toward shore, and landfall is expected this evening.
