Shadow Lake Fire, Oregon

All over Oregon fires have been burning our dense forests into ash. Bringing thick blankets of smoke into the cities and turning the skies into an ugly white. I first drove by this fire, outside of Sisters, on my move back to Eugene. It was just a small patch of smoke billowing in the air. The fire has grown tremendously and now is nearly 10,000 acres. It is hard to see Mt. Washington out there during the day, but at night the camera brings out the details in the fire. Driving over highway 126, almost all the recreational trails are closed. The majority closed off for safety and for fire crews to camp at. It is crazy to think, three weeks ago what you see on fire now was full of trees and wildflowers. Officials say the smoke in Central Oregon has reached unhealthy or hazardous conditions.

I haven't had time to use my camera lately. Moving has kept me busy over the past couple weeks. Hopefully I can get out and explore some new places in the valley soon. Have a good week.
