Calligraphy Demonstration
Calligraphy means "the art of beautiful writing."

Members of the Chicago Calligraphy Collective set up shop in the Library to demonstrate a variety of calligraphy tools and techniques. The Mary Radmacher Room and Gallery were filled with curious learners of all ages who tried their hand at paperfolding, different types of lettering, and creating their own Artist's Trading Cards.

The Chicago Calligraphy Collective is organized for the charitable and educational purposes of promoting the study, practice, and appreciation of calligraphy in all its historical and present day applications. Visit the Collective on the Web at

Works by members of the Chicago Calligraphy Collective were on exhibit at Skokie Public Library in January 2010. See our photoset for samples from the exhibit.
